The goal of the Full-Lifecycle-Post-Quantum-PKI (FLOQI) project is the development of a quantum computer-resistant PKI. This must be compatible with current cryptographic procedures. For this purpose, post-quantum methods are implemented on different platforms and tested in three demonstrators. The use of the developed processes will be shown in the automotive industry, in industry 4.0 and in finance.

The aim of the C-Roads Platform is to develop harmonised specifications taking the EU-C-ITS platform recommendations into account, linking all C-ITS deployments and planning intensive cross-testing. The C-Roads Platform is making cross-border C-ITS services a reality today and building the foundations for connected and automated vehicles.

The goal of the "German Reference Project for IT Security in Industry 4.0" is to protect networked industrial equipment effectively from cyber attacks and espionage. This is done specifically by means of application areas and demonstrators. Methods are to be developed with which secure processes, secure data and secure services can be implemented simultaneously with secure networking.

The project SAFURE targets the design of cyber-physical systems by implementing a methodology that ensures safety and security "by construction". This methodology is enabled by a framework developed to extend system capabilities so as to control the concurrent effects of security threats on the system behaviour.

The ParSec project investigates and implements a flexible, reliable and secure wireless communication system that supports modern factory automation in all its communication requirements.

In the project "Securing the Financial Cloud (SFC)", a cloud platform is being developed for the networking of banks, ATMs and transfer terminals for financial services. For this, methods of hardware and software security are combined with approaches from cloud computing.

The overall objective of UNIKOPS are universally configurable safety solutions for embedded devices and systems. It addresses various applications such as SCADA, smart metering, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). The security solutions in development are also intended to satisfy requirements for energy efficiency and storage requirements at the same time.

The KEM3S project aims to develop protective measures for networks and machines and to combine them into a combined engineering method to support the construction process.

Prophylaxe, short for “Providing Physical Layer Security for the Internet of Things”, is a strategic research project supported by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within BMBF program “IT-Sicherheitsforschung” which makes use of Physical Layer Security to foster new applications for the IoT.

The goal of PRESERVE (Preparing Secure Vehicle-to-X Communication Systems) is to bring secure and privacy-protected V2X communication closer to reality by providing and field testing a security and privacy subsystem for V2X systems. PRESERVE will combine and extend results from earlier research projects, integrating and developing them to a pre-deployment stage by enhancing scalability, reducing the cost level, and addressing open deployment issues.

SecMobil will address this abuse potential by engineering security components that can be employed in vehicles, charging stations and the infrastructure. To prevent creating isolated solutions, other projects will be involved in the requirements phase. So the resulting security components will be usable in a wide range of applications and SecMobile will even assist interested projects in adopting the created solution.

This project focuses on the development of a cross-layer security system that independently estimates apparent and existing threats. Based on this, it proposes suitable protection mechanisms to the user, or activates those automatically. The latter is important especially for embedded mobile systems.

In SCAAS, automotive suppliers and research facilities cooperate to address side-channel analysis for security applications in the automotive industry. It is expected that agile and well-organized attackers will use side-channel attacks in the automotive sector in near future, which is a serious threat for manufacturers, suppliers and consumers. Because of long production cycles in the automotive sector, an early investigation is essential.

The project focuses on the research and development of advanced methods and technologies for side channel analysis of IT systems. The RESIST project explores advancements of established attacks and seeks to construct a mathematical theory that allows for a sound evaluation of risk potentials.

The OVERSEE project develops an open, standardized in-vehicle software and communication platform, which will empower (almost) everyone to develop vehicular applications and offering these applications to all vehicles that are equipped - very similar to Apple's App Store.The OVERSEE platform will in particular ensure that such applications cannot harm each other or any other vehicle-internal IT system.

The attempt to enforce effective copy protection of software through the use of an external hardware device (called "dongle") has a long history: Dongles are commonly used high-priced software created for a specific user group. HIKOS is the abbreviation for “High Security for Intelligent Software Copy Protection”. The project aimed at creating a new hardware platform, exceeding the current state-of-the-art security level, and providing tools to automatically analyse and prepare existing software projects.

Secure and trustworthy on-board systems form the basis for trustworthy communication among cars or between cars and the infrastructure. Therefore, the objectives of the EVITA project are to design, to verify, and to prototype an architecture for the on-board networks where security-relevant components are protected against tampering and sensitive data are protected against compromise.

To protect against counterfeiting, the MobilAuthent project provides a solution consisting of RFID-based services that facilitates a simple and effective verification of the authenticity of products. End users are able to distinguish original products and components from non-originals (replicas, imitations, counterfeits) in a secure and unambiguous way.
