“Intelligent Mobility: Safer. Greener. Smarter“ is the motto of the ITS America annual meeting 2019 from June 4 to 7 in Washington D.C.. Leaders from the public sector, private companies, academia, and research organizations come together to discuss current research and deployment of intelligent transportation technologies. Central topics of the event are V2Xcommunication, mobility on demand, automated vehicles and automotive cybersecurity.
In V2X communication, IT security is essential for ensuring the reliable and trustworthy exchange of information between vehicles within the Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System (C-ITS).
With the European Commission hosting and the Crown Prince of Denmark as patron, it’s easy to gauge the importance of the ITS World Congress, which will be held in Copenhagen from September 17 to 21, 2018. Under the banner of “Quality of Life,” the event is not just about new, smart mobility in itself, but also about the effects that intelligent transport systems (ITS) have on people, cities, and the environment.
The corner of Jefferson Avenue and Grisworld Street in downtown Detroit: A Ford F-150 equipped with innovative Bosch V2X technology independently recognizes red lights, traffic signs, and pedestrians in the roadway.
Mobility promises us a future of connected driving: an increase in driving safety and road safety, autonomous driving, better traffic flow, less harm to the environment, and enhanced public and goods transportation. The key to making this future a reality is the cooperative intelligent transportation system (C-ITS), which enables vehicles to exchange information with other vehicles and with traffic infrastructure in real time.
This year, the commercial vehicle sector is meeting in Hannover from September 20 to 27 under the banner of “Driving tomorrow.” The sector is expecting digitalization, connectivity, and autonomous driving to deliver a quantum leap in efficiency and road safety.
Visitors to ITS America 2018 will be able to experience the future of mobility on the streets of downtown Detroit. In a live demonstration, the Bosch Group will show how communication between vehicles and infrastructure will soon be making road traffic safer.
ConCar Expo 2018, Europe’s largest trade show for automated driving and connected car solutions, will take place in Berlin on June 27 and 28. More than 1,000 visitors from development departments across the automotive industry will convene at the Estrel Congress & Messe Center to discuss the future of mobility. One of this year’s focus topics is IT security for vehicles.
