it-sa, the leading international IT security trade fair, will be held October 8–10 in Nuremberg. ESCRYPT and its partner splunk will be presenting integrated security solutions for connected manufacturing.
A product as complex as a vehicle, subject to countless regulations, requires a high degree of cyber security across all levels and areas of its production. Not only does the production environment need to be protected against manipulation and access, but the product itself also has to be protected. This is because in extreme cases, an attacker could manipulate vehicle components in the course of their connected production and hide all traces of the attack in the quality documentation systems. In relatively harmless cases of sabotage, 0-km failures could be provoked, which do cause financial damage but are noticed relatively quickly. More serious would be the planting of logic bombs in the ECUs or the manipulation of features that affect safety and quality, such as the tightening torque for screws.
At this year’s it-sa, ESCRYPT and its partner splunk will be showing how comprehensive monitoring can protect the production environment against manipulation and unauthorized access. Visit us at the booth of our partner splunk, in hall 10.0, booth 116.
